S.C.A.M. Live Magic Contest Rules

The contests will be limited to 8 contestants.

Contestants will be selected on a first come basis as applications and registrations are received.

Deadline for entering a contest will occur when 8 applications are received or one hour before the contest if 8 contestants have not entered.

All contestants must be duly registered for the convention.

No contest entrant may be a paid performer at the convention.

No performer will be allowed rehearsal time at the convention.

Contestants performing to music must bring their own cassette or CD and player.

All contestants must check in with the Stage Contest Director (Nick Propst) or the Close Up Contest Director (Bobby Jonte)at least 30 minutes prior to the contest starting time.

Contestants will be judged by a committee of judges selected by the Contest Director. Judges decisions will be final.

No pyrotechnics allowed. The Contest Director reserves the right to disqualify any contestant from performing should he or she deem the fire to be detrimental to the convention.

Contestants will be assigned a performing order by the Contest Director.

A limit of 7 minutes maximum will be allowed each performer in any contest. Points will be deducted for performances running over the time limit.

S.C.A.M. On-Line Video Contest Rules

All videos submitted become property of S.C.A.M.
All videos will be voted on by pre-registrants of S.C.A.M.
S.C.A.M. officials have final vote of top ten.

Video must be uploaded no later than 48 hours prior to S.C.A.M. Convention's first day to this site. (no links to other sites will be accepted)

Video must be no longer than 7 minutes (any video longer than 7 minutes deletes automatically).

Video must be a continuos magical routine (any routine that breaks to show another effect that does not flow will be edited down to first continous routine).

Routine must be an original or vastly improves on basic effect that basically makes it original (any basic performance will immediatley sink to the bottom of the barrel)

Video must be G rated. (any vulger words or obscene displays will void video and be deleted)

Video or Routine must not be copywrited. (any bought effect or routines resembling other magician's performance or copied video from other sources will be deleted)

Video will not contain advertisements or contact info. (Info advertisements will be deleted or smudged)

We must recieve a minimum of seven videos to honor contest awards.
